After Surgery

Got my surgery done last wednesday. Went well. Never even felt the pull of the anesthesia. I just feel asleep at some point and then I woke up. I do remember saying something, and the nurses started laughing, but I can't remember what I said exactly. Other than that, uneventful. Was seeing double for a while. Then they sent me home.

Now imagine this:
You just got surgery. On your KNEE.
You're still groggy with anesthesia and oxicodon.
You live in the 3rd floor of an apartment complex.
Said apartment complex DOES NOT have elevators.
You're walking with crutches, bearing NO weight on your leg, per doc's orders.

If you can imagine yourself with these circumstances, then you know how I felt when they sent me home.

Been a while

Hello non-existing friends,

Here's a recap of my life since the last time I posted something in the blog.

1. Graduated College- it took seven years, three degree changes and working part-time and playing tennis at the same time, BUT I made it.
2. Started playing tennis for fun (actually, I was forced to start, then I continued for fun). Started at the lowest category in 2009 (2.5), then went up to 3.0 in 2010. Stayed there for three years, until in 2012 my team went to Nationals in Tucson, AZ. FUN! But lost... bummer. In 2013 went up to 3.5, played a year there (I sucked!) Haven't played since, and when I tried.... I got injured. (But I'll go back to that in a moment)
3. I moved! I left mi pais! Mi preciosa. Went from Puerto Rican tropics to bipolar Maryland. Whew! The winters that I have gone through! Pretty, but like the famouse e-mail about the Puerto Rican in MA says: maldita mierda blanca! (Damn white shit!)
Which brings me back to the end of #2: my injury - on my first game back to tennis, I injured my right knee. REAL BAD! It hurt a lot. After an MRI, it was revealed that I had torn my ACL. For those who don't know, that is the ligament that provides support to the knee so that when you are running, the knee stays in place. Todays is D-6 days for my knee surgery. It has been a month already since the incident! I want to get this over with.

So, wish me luck!~
